Spa Eastman

The "Bois corde"

Named for the logs making up the outside and inside walls, this pavilion has four quaint rooms, where you can truly "sleep like a log", a lovely den with fireplace and a sauna. Everything you need for those special moments!

The Pavilion's History

In 1981 a new pavilion was added. Le Bois Cordé was constructed using a traditional technique. Much like building a log home, cedar logs were fixed using cement, steel wool, and a lot of brawn, to create the inner and outer walls of the structure. What is more, it was built in the traditional barn raising fashion. Men, women and children, friends and family took part in this special happening. Obviously, in order to make sure that the structure met architectural norms and specifications the group of builders were closely supervised by professionals.

Consequently, Le Bois Cordé was built specifically to increase the number of rooms used to dispense treatments. In addition to massage therapy, the Spa Eastman was, from then on, offering its first fangotherapy, more commonly known as mud therapy, treatments. Le Bois Cordé also housed a large sauna, heated by a wood stove. This sauna became a pretext for experimenting with hot saunas followed by an invigorating snow bath. Clients could discover this through activities and relaxation workshops.

In 2001, Le Bois Cordé was renovated and has now become a lodging pavilion. With its four comfortable bedrooms, lounge and its legendary sauna, Le Bois Cordé has become particularly appreciated by small groups who wish to enjoy a little privacy. Like many other pavilions at the Spa Eastman today, it is a gathering place for such family reunions and friendly celebrations that enjoy a special place in the hearts of many.
