Each consultation is based on a comprehensive assessment. This assessment is completed prior to the consultation. The results provide important information about your health and nutritional habits. Also an initial naturopathic evaluation allows the naturopath to evaluate overall health, nutrition and digestive health. Usually, nutrition has an important impact on overall well-being and the signs are obvious to a trained professional. A second naturopathic evaluation analyses the adrenal glands, which serves as an excellent indicator of your level of stress.
OUR NATUROPATHS :
Ilona Dowgiallo holds a doctorate in Physics from the Wroclaw University of Technology in Poland, and has received a grant from the Medical Research Council of Canada (MRCC) for a 3-year course with the MRCC in radiation science. After many years devoted to the fight against cancer in The Department of Nuclear Medicine and Radiobiology at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke – CHUS), her interest shifted to how nutrition can impact stress and general health. At that time she undertook a 3-year course in naturopathy at l’École d’Enseignement Supérieur de Naturopathie du Québec. She also has training in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture.
Experienced lecturer, naturopath, nutrithérapeute, qualified chef specialising in international cuisine, wellness coach and consultant in recipe/menu development. Veronica uses a holistic therapeutic approach based on natural factors of wellness, restoring nutrient-dense foods and traditional preparation methods, and the anti-inflammatory diet. Originally from Australia, she spent seven years observing different ancestral culinary techniques and lifestyles from various cultures around the world. With over thirty years experience and two restaurants, Veronica continues her passion for assisting people make the transition to better health here at Spa Eastman.
Manon Viger has practiced nursing for 20 years; she also has a diploma in naturopathy and training as a herbalist. Supported by her knowledge of medicine and natural methods, she helps clients adopt a more balanced lifestyle by acting as a guide during their stay. Of course, as these stays are highly personalized, she offers guidance that is adapted to the client’s health. Her experience in the medical field has taught the importance of an approach based on prevention; managing ones health through proper nutrition, exercise, managing stress and environmental factors.
