Deep tissue massage lies within the scope of therapeutic treatments. It is very effective in being able to  relax muscles and to ease problems of mobility.

It is an oil-free massage during which the therapist’s hands work directly on the skin, while deeply manipulating the muscles and fascia (the thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ in place throughout the body).

As a comparison, during a regular massage, the therapist applies pressure on the body (along two layers), whereas with a deep tissue massage, he or she works the muscles or fascia along three layers, using very deep movements to treat injuries and to release frozen nerves and muscles.

This treatment is recommended only for those people who like a massage that uses firm pressure.
